When I joined First Take, I was a bit lost as an actor. Something was off, and I knew it. The drive left, and then the joy left, and soon after that I started considering other careers, but I gave First Take a shot to help me find a connection with acting again. With Nancy’s weekly guidance, I was able to recognize limiting preparation and technique habits I had formed, and over time, I started shifting towards performing from my heart, and not my head. Now, my work is personal, so the acting is meaningful. Her encouragement to keep going deeper is a strong motivator for me. First Take got me back on track, and then some. It’s a safe place to do dangerous things.
